West End experienced the biggest and best Vindie Markets ever on Saturday, with thousands of people enjoying the warm winter sun on the “corner of awesome”, at Rumpus Room – West End Brisbane.
For the first time Vindie market stalls lined both the inside and outside of the Rumpus Room venue, filling the carpark with gypsy, hippie, vintage and indie stalls. Thousands flowed through clearing out many of the stalls with bargain pre-loved and vintage fashion, hand-made jewelry and accessories. Free workshops were also provided by Poly Gone Cowboy with their popular screen-printing on bandannas, and Gypsy Love Store showing how to create DIY gypsy homewares.
Local businesses around the Vindie Markets at West End were very pleased with the turnout. The Rumpus Room of course loves having market shoppers stop in for a drink, West End Charcoal fed the masses next door, and new kids on the block (but West End veterans) Bench Espresso thrived in the busy market atmosphere at the back behind Rumpus Room.
Vindie market stall holders reported selling-out and clearing out of their vintage, pre-loved and gypsy-styled fashion and accessories at Saturday’s market. Vindie shoppers went crazy for both the bargains and the beautiful wares on sale! Stall holder Gypsy Love Store hailing from Byron Bay made a rare appearance back in Brisbane, and was kept busy all day with shoppers keen to get the latest hand-made gypsy-styled look.
Both gypsy and hippie vintage lovers and stall holders alike loved the new Vindie markets, and are keen for the next event booked for the 18th of July in the Fortitude Valley. There are very limited market stall spaces left, so apply quickly to book your place as a stall holder.
